Thank You
I write with a heavy heart, but a hopeful spirit. Tuesday night's outcome was disappointing, but we have gained so much over the past year. We made thousands of new friends, had the help of incredible volunteers, and learned so much about the issues important to the people of the 10th district and America. The opportunity to meet with voters at house parties, churches and synagogues, and other places where people come to meet and talk was invaluable - Thank You. I am proud of my campaign. We ran on the issues. We opened up a debate over improving access to health care and higher education, reforming our nation's energy policies, and redirecting America's foreign policy. Even those who didn't support us politically respected the positions we stood for, and the way we made them known. Tuesday night didn't dim my lifelong passion for public service. There are no guarantees in politics, but some things are eternal: We won't have change unless we're willing to work for it. And I will never stop working to make America a better place. My family and I have been so privileged to get to know so many of you. Thank you for your support, hard work, and good wishes. You lifted me up every day and your thoughts will continue to carry me forward.
