In 5 Months, Footlik raises over $470,000

Highland Park, IL – Jay Footlik, Democratic candidate for Illinois’ 10th Congressional district today announced he had raised over $193,243 in the 3rd quarter ending September 30th. Footlik has raised an impressive $480,337 through the end of the third quarter. “I’m pleased and grateful for the support I’m receiving. Everywhere I go in the district, I hear from people who are ready for change from George Bush and Mark Kirk’s failed leadership,” said Footlik. "I'm ready to go to Washington and fight for our communities' priorities - ending the war in Iraq, addressing our energy needs and improving our health care system," Footlik continued. “Mark Kirk is running scared and trying to run away from his “Whatever You Say, President Bush” voting record. Kirk flipped-flopped on children’s health insurance. Kirk is trying to soften his language about the war in Iraq – even though he has supported Bush down-the-line on the war,” said Footlik. "Jay's continued strength in fundraising is a commentary on the strength of his candidacy - Jay has the experience to go to Washington and hit the ground running on the foreign policy and domestic issues people in the 10th District care most about," said Footlik's campaign manager, Simon Behrmann. Footlik, a native of Skokie and former aide in the Clinton Administration, has spent his career devoted to public service and Democratic causes. He served as Special Assistant to President Clinton in the White House. In 2004, Footlik worked for the Kerry/Edwards Campaign as Senior Advisor on Middle East Affairs. Footlik has been touted for his deep understanding of International affairs and homeland security, and for his commitment to fixing our health care system, and resolving the country's energy needs.
